The ‘rents divided their time between university campuses in Britain and the US, so Julien has grown quite used to the idea of moving around a lot (he’s also picked up some fluctuating Britishisms from one too many semesters abroad). While he certainly displayed the mental abilities his parents were hoping for in his childhood, Julien could never sit still long enough to prove to anyone that he had much scholastic aptitude, though he’s always talked like he’s rather clever. Despite this he somehow still managed to be accepted to a liberal arts school in Massachusetts, from which he has currently fled (without telling his parents, of course). Julien changes his mind every six to twelve months about who he is and what he’d like to do in the world, but a few things never change: he’s extremely smart, empathetic, and manic with short bouts of unrelenting depression. He’d do something just fantastic with his life if he could ever settle on what that would be. He's reluctantly beginning to remember his past life and has an irrational fear of dome-shaped trashcans. In an apocalyptic battle against a resurgence of Daleks, Rose nearly killed herself trying to save the Doc, and he in turn actually did kill himself saving her back.
